Progress made on completing Firefly Trail

Multiple projects will be underway this year to get the Firefly Trail closer to the finish line.According to trail development coordinator John Kissane, Firefly Trail Inc. (FTI) has completed 12 miles of the 39-mile trail.

Airabella developer shares update

Airabella Lake Oconee partner Kevin Bryant and project manager Abby Port shared an update on the “live-work-play” development during the Greene County Development Authority’s Nov. 12 meeting.Bryant and Port said the site plan is developing, and dirt has started moving.

Courthouse space committee begins work

The Courthouse Vacant Space Allocation committee (CVSA) finally held its first meeting Tuesday to plan its strategy for solving problems of crowded conditions in offices and general repair needs at the 175-year-old Greene County Courthouse in downtown Greensboro.

Greensboro adopts curfew for local youth due to safety

According to Assistant Police Chief Tommy Nelson, the Greensboro Police Department and the Greensboro City Council have imposed a curfew for youths under 18.Nelson said the measure aims to improve the safety and well-being of Greensboro youth and the community at large.Curfew hours begin at 10 p.m.

Harbor Club hosts 9/11 remembrance walk

Last Wednesday, firefighter Bob Welsh led a remembrance walk at Harbor Club in Greensboro, where attendees followed him on a mile-long walk from the golf course cart barn to the flagpole at the neighborhood’s entrance.After a minute of silence in quiet prayer, the flag was lowered at 8:46 a.m.
