Greene Area Cattlemen’s Association 2023 Award Scholarship goes to Mac Heuer

Mac Heuer is a 2023 Greene County home-school graduate. He has a sincere passion for agriculture, raising and exhibiting quality livestock, and he has been an active Greene County 4-H’er for a number of years.

Georgia 4-H celebrated excellence during the 80th annual 4-H State Congress as top 4-H’ers from around the state gathered July 18-21 in Atlanta.

The 4-H Building Blocks Program is a week-long day camp that bridges the gap between students and their community. How much do you really know about the community in which you live? Ten Greene County 4-H’ers decided to accept the challenge.

Thirty-five Greene County 4-H campers visited 4-H Camp Jekyll June 12- 16, where they spent the week canoeing, biking, seining (fishing with large nets), and engaging in herpetology, beach ecology, marsh ecology, and herpetology classes.

4-Hers excel at District Project Achievement

Twenty-three counties from across the state of Georgia participated in Cloverleaf District Project Achievement at Rock Eagle 4-H Center on Feb. 18. More than 541 youth from these counties participated in public speaking and culinary competitions.

Greene County 4-H celebrates our six 4-Hers who participated in the Northeast Junior/Senior District Project Achievement (DPA) competition held at Rock Eagle 4-H Center March 10-12. There were 374 competitors representing each county in the Northeast District.
