Lake Oconee Academy hosted its third annual Homecoming football game this past Friday night. During halftime of the Titans’ game against Augusta Prep, the school named its Homecoming king and queen.

Greene County Recreation Department sees growth

Over the last two years, Greene County has seen a 6.5 percent increase in population with over 20,000 residents now living in the area. With the recent steady increase in families moving into Lake Country, the Greene County recreation department has seen the number of its participants increase to three times the size it was just a handful of years ago.

Since the GHSA-mandated “dead week” period at the beginning of July, the Lake Oconee Academy volleyball program has been making strides toward becoming a better team. Last season, the Lady Titans finished the regular season with a 12-15 record.

Lake Oconee Academy awarded Directors’ Cups

Last week, Lake Oconee Academy was awarded the Female Directors Cup, and the overall Directors Cup was presented by the Georgia Athletic Directors Association (GADA). Titans’ athletic director Chris Ingle told the Lake Oconee News that it’s a great honor to be recognized for this award.

Lady Titans tee off for fifth-consecutive title

The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ golf team traveled to Thomson to play at the Belle Meade Golf Club for the GHSA Class A Division II state championship earlier this week. The Lady Titans came into the two-day event as the reigning two-time state champions and defended their title as such.
