Three Lady Titans get All-Region nods

The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ basketball team had two players selected to the All-Region team this season, with another named to the honorable mention list.

Basketball ‘Dogs, Lady Dogs earn All-Region honors

Morgan County’s basketball teams recently announced that six players made the All-Region 4-AAA list in 2024. The ‘Dogs and Lady Dogs had three players each make either the All-Region First or Second teams.

Lady Titans off to even start on the pitch

The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ soccer team has struggled early in the season but has played a tough schedule.The Lady Titans are 3-3-2 at the midpoint of the season but hope for a better result in the back part of the year.

Rechenbach reflects on Titans’ season

Lake Oconee Academy’s basketball team fell one game shy of making the GHSA Class A Division II state playoffs.The Titans finished the season 8-19 overall and 4-10 in region play. While that might not look good to some, head coach Josiah Rechenbach saw progression in his second season.

Gators win season opener, 8-2, over Westfield

The Gatewood Gators baseball team opened its 2024 season last Tuesday with an 8-2 win over the visiting Westfield Hornets.The Hornets had a 2-1 record heading into the matchup in Eatonton, while the Gators were playing their first game of the regular season.

Jefferson rallies to top Diamond Dogs

Despite Monday’s non-region loss to Jefferson, Morgan County baseball sits at 7-2 overall and is playing well.The Class 5A Dragons rallied to a 7-5 victory over Class 3A’s No. 4 Diamond Dogs at Horace J. Jackson Field.

Titans start the season off hot

Lake Oconee Academy is six games into its season and holds an impressive 5-1 overall record.The Titans’ five victories have come against Putnam County, Oglethorpe County, Jasper County, Greene County, and the Academy of Classical Education (ACE).

Free throws seal LOA’s playoff fate

Christian Heritage got the best of Lake Oconee Academy last Friday in a second-round playoff tilt.The final few seconds of the game came down to free throws, and the Lady Lions took advantage of their opportunity to seal the game by nailing both to defeat the Lady Titans 49-47 in a tight battle.
