Gators face Brentwood in doubleheader

The Gatewood Gators had a short but successful week last week facing region rival Brentwood in a Friday doubleheader in Sandersville. The Gators swept the Eagles two games to none by a score of 4-3 in game one and 13-0 in game two.

Lady Titans capture region title

Lake Oconee Academy girls’ soccer captured the region title with a 3-2 win over Aquinas on Tuesday, March 26.The Lady Titans (6-4-2, 5-2 Class A Division II Region 8) will head into the state playoffs as a No. 1 seed.

Big swing forward for MoCo golf

Morgan County’s golf teams are off to a great start this season, with both already exceeding expectations in 2024. The girls’ and boys’ teams have made significant strides and coach Max Gaubert has taken notice.

Morgan County tennis teams seeing success

Morgan County’s tennis teams have both done well this season in the wake of a new era for the program.That’s an impressive accomplishment for the teams and first-year head coach Conner Perry, who was previously the head coach at the middle school for the last two years.

Tigers taking the right steps on the diamond

Greene County baseball head coach Brad Evans has seen his team take great strides in his first year.The Tigers are having one of their best seasons in recent memory and have vastly improved since Evans took over. Evans has seen his players become more committed to the sport this spring.

Gatewood track-and-field places well at home meet

Gatewood’s track-and-field teams hosted a meet last Wednesday in Eatonton. The Gatewood boys’ team placed first overall with 125 points, defeating rivals Brentwood and Trinity Christian, which both tied for second place with 102 points. Skipstone Academy finished third, with Twiggs Academy fourth.

Greene County T&F off to running start

Greene County’s track teams are off to a hot start this year with only a few meets left during the regular season.The Tigers and Lady Tigers are still practicing hard before their region meet takes place next month.

Gators continue winning ways on the diamond

Gatewood went undefeated again last week versus George Walton Academy (GWA) and swept Westminster Christian (WCA) in a two-game series.The Gators opened their week at home in Eatonton on March 18 against George Walton in what turned out to be a high-scoring ball game.
