There’s one great thing about summer in the South. Vegetables. And tomatoes and corn top my list. Each summer, I await the season’s harvest with the anticipation of a child at Christmas.

Titans begin summer practice

Lake Oconee Academy’s football team started its action-packed summer workout schedule a few weeks ago.The Titans are using this summer to grow closer as a team and try to improve before the start of the year. Their head coach, Patrick Stewart, said he wants to see more consistency from his team.

Frazzitta seeing results on recruiting trail

Morgan County rising senior Draco Frazzitta has seen his hard work pay off in the last few months.Frazzitta, who plays tight end and linebacker for the Bulldogs, has garnered interest from several Division I programs in recent months and currently holds offers from Georgia State, UAB, and Navy.

Condon leaves legacy with Georgia baseball

With Georgia’s 2024 baseball season over, sophomore infielder Charlie Condon has probably played his final Bulldogs game. If so, Condon left with a flourish, scoring a record-setting 37th home run of the year Monday night in the ninth inning of the Dawgs’ season-ending 8-5 playoff loss to the N.C.

Morgan’s County's David Denton determined to succeed

Morgan County’s David Denton didn’t end his high school baseball career exactly as he wanted but remains proud of his accomplishments as a Bulldog.During the Bulldogs’ game against defending state champion and rival Harlem on April 17, Denton stepped to the plate as his team trailed 3-0.

Gatewood baseball players garner postseason praise

After winning a second-consecutive state championship, the Gatewood Gators saw six players named to the GIAA Class AA District 2 All-Region team and four to the GIAA AA All-State team.
