Greene, Morgan track teams to compete at state level

The track-and-field teams from Greene County and Morgan County performed well at their respective sectional meets, and each is now sending several athletes to compete at the state level.

Two Diamond Dogs sign to play at college level

Earlier this month, Morgan County baseball’s Ben Atkinson and Skylar McCoy signed to play at the next level.Both seniors will remain in the Peach State. Atkinson is signing with LaGrange College, and McCoy is heading to Middle Georgia State University.

Dogs fall to Jackson in second round

Both regular-season games between Morgan County and Jackson were decided by a single goal, with each team winning one of the first two contests. This was also the case in last week’s second-round playoff matchup.

Dogs tame Tigers to advance

Top-seed Morgan County is returning to the Elite Eight after sweeping No. 16 seed Ringgold on May 1.The ‘Dogs (28-5) dominated No. 32 seed Butler, winning 19-0 and 20-0 in the first round on April 25.

LOA tennis teams return to Elite Eight

Gatewood T&F qualifies athletes for state meet

Gatewood’s track and field teams hosted and participated in the final GIAA Region 4-AA meet last Thursday.The Lady Gators performed well, finishing third with 110 points, behind Edmund Burke and Brentwood. They qualified more than 20 athletes for the GIAA Class AA state meet.
