Smith takes home gold for Morgan

Morgan County’s Kymora Smith placed first at the Class AA state track-and-field meet in the long jump on May 9.Smith secured the gold medal with a personal record of 18-1.The Morgan County senior said stepping up to the podium with the first-place trophy was a surreal moment.

Bowdon eliminates Titans from playoffs

On May 7, Bowdon swept Lake Oconee Academy in the Elite Eight, ending the Titans’ hopes of winning a state title.The Red Devils (27-9) defeated LOA 7-1 and 15-8 to secure a spot in the semifinal round of the state playoffs.

Monford shines for Tigers at state T&F meet

RJ Monford ended his career with the Greene County track-and-field team as a state champion.Over the weekend, he placed first in the discus competition at the Class A Division II state meet in Albany with a mark of 165-0, earning him a spot at the top of the podium.
