LOA captures third-straight GADA Director’s Cup

Lake Oconee Academy is used to winning.The Titans recently won their third-straight Class A Division II Georgia Athletic Directors Association’s Cup. The Titans also dominated the competition, winning both the Female Director’s Cup and the Male Director’s Cup.

Tigers looking for leadership during summer

The Greene County boys basketball team suffered a disappointing end to its 2024-25 season.McIntosh County Academy defeated the Tigers 49-41 in the Final Four of the Class A Division II state tournament. They were one win shy of competing for a state championship after leading for most of the game.

Wild Things welcome SEC pitcher to roster

The Lake Oconee Wild Things recently signed Auburn pitcher Hayden Murphy to its roster, making him one of the first SEC athletes to join the team. Murphy made his Wild Things debut on June 13 in the team’s matchup with the Atlanta Crackers.

Titans begin summer with QB battle

The Lake Oconee Academy football team began its summer practice schedule last week.The team didn’t have spring practice, so head coach Patrick Stewart was eager to see his players hit the field.

Tigers get wake-up call at 7-on-7 camp

The Greene County football team kicked off summer practice last week by playing in a 7-on-7 camp.The Tigers traveled about 40 minutes up the road to compete at Athens Academy.

Morgan County basketball hosts youth camp

Last week, the Morgan County basketball teams hosted a youth camp at the school’s gym.The camp was a tremendous success, with over 100 kids attending to learn from both teams.Morgan County boys assistant coach Brian Green was in charge of running the camp.

Wild Things split with Astros

The Lake Oconee Wild Things hosted their second home series of the season, facing off against the Atlanta Astros. The matchup took place last weekend, and the teams played in two tight games, resulting in a split of the series.
