BASKETBALL: Lady Bulldogs spending time in the gym this summer

While most have been enjoying time off this summer, the Morgan County girls' basketball team has been in the gym. Most recently, the Lady Bulldogs hosted a round-robin event earlier last week with other area schools like Greene County and John Milledge Academy in attendance.

BASKETBALL: Sims leaving his post at Morgan County

Morgan County boys’ basketball head coach Jamond Sims is leaving the program after eight years. He has reportedly taken the job at Luella High School in Henry County.  Sims, a native of Henry County, is returning to be the head coach of the Lions. His previous stint at LHS was from 2007 to 2013.

BASKETBALL: Lady Tigers begin summer workouts, scrimmages

Ever since their season-ending loss to Towns County in February during the first round of the Region 8A-Public tournament, the Greene County Lady Tigers’ basketball team has been wanting to get back out on the court.

FOOTBALL: Stewart brings new energy to summer workouts

The Lake Oconee Academy football team continued to work on and off the field during its summer workouts earlier this week. The Titans were up early in the morning to hit the weightroom before going out onto the field to learn more about schemes and walk through plays.

Morgan County girl’s basketball star Shay Brown committed to Huntingdon College located in Montgomery, Alabama last Saturday afternoon. Multiple family members and former coaches made it to the school’s auditorium around 3:00 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL: Camp sets up successful summer for Lady Titans

The Lake Oconee Academy volleyball program held an all-day camp this week. The camp consists of multiple drills being taught to better develop aspects of the game such as serving, setting and spiking.

Outdoors: All dogs go to heaven

This is a serious and, much to my surprise, not a settled theological idea. Do dogs, cats, horses, etc. have souls that survive death and if so, will they be in Heaven? Now, I’m not a theologian, but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express lately!

FOOTBALL: Tigers visit Grady Jarrett’s 7v7 camp

One of the main things that new GCHS head football coach Terrance Banks wanted to do when he arrived was to change parts of the culture within the program. He feels like the lack of athlete exposure is something that he can develop immediately.
