Lady ‘Dogs ‘wow’ head coach with win over Cross Creek

Morgan County boys head into home stretch

The Morgan County boys soccer team heads into its final stretch of the season this week, with four matches left on its 2023 schedule before the Class AAA state playoffs start in April. The Bulldogs entered the week with a 6-2-2 record and a 6-1 mark in Region 4-AAA play.

Tigers tab Fortson as new wrestling head coach

Greene County’s wrestling program has seen its ups and downs over the last 30 years, but it’s looking to change that with its most recent hire. The GCHS administration just signed Aubrey Fortson, who will be taking over for former head coach Todd Clifton.

Gators feast on Cougars with back-to-back wins

Gatewood baseball extended their winning streak to four last week. The Gators defeated Piedmont Academy 2-1 at home on March 14, and two days later, the Gators beat the Cougars 9-5 in Monticello.

Gatewood continues strong track-and-field start

The Gatewood Gators boys’ and girls’ track and field teams got off to a good start in the first week of the season and both looked to continue their success this past Wednesday as they hosted Brentwood, Trinity Christian, Briarwood, John Hancock and Twiggs Academy.

Diamond ‘Dogs blast Salem on Senior Night

Morgan County baseball evened its record at 7-7 on Senior Night with a 15-0 rout of Salem this past Tuesday. The Bulldogs honored five seniors - Drew Stephens, Jack Harper, Ethan Mizell, Jackson Miller and Brendan Conway before the game at Tracy Brown Field. They each contributed to the victory.

Titans begin region play, continue to roll
