Lady Tigers make history, win first round playoff game in more than a decade

The Greene County girls soccer team entered the GHSA Class A Division II playoffs as the third seed out of Area 6, and they certainly made the most of it. The Lady Tigers took on the Lady Lions of Christian Heritage on April 11 and came out victorious with a final score of 2-0.

Gators resume play with three non-region wins

After a week off for spring break, the Gatewood baseball team (12-5, 5-1) resumed its season on the road last week with three straight non-conference wins.

Gators wrap up T&F regular season

Last Wednesday, Gatewood’s track & field teams finished off their regular season at home, where they hosted Briarwood, Windsor, Westfield, Brentwood and Twiggs. The Gators’ boys won the meet with a score of 164 while the Gators’ girls team placed third with a score of 117 total points.

Brown inks with North Carolina A&T

Qua Brown had a dream as a kid to play basketball at the next level and now his dream has come true. The Morgan County senior signed a letter of intent to play collegiately at North Carolina A&T last week. “The process went smoothly,” Brown said.

Lady Dogs net dominant win over Long County in first round of Class AAA state playoffs

The top-seeded Morgan County girls soccer team started off its playoff run with a convincing 5-0 win over No. 4 seed Long County on Tuesday. In Tuesday's matchup, Morgan County struck first on the scoreboard as junior Camp Stamps netted a goal on an assist from senior Sidda Outlaw.

LOA soccer teams earn first-round byes to begin playoffs

Soccer has been a successful spring sport at Lake Oconee Academy for the past couple of seasons, and this year is no different. Both the girls' and boy's programs ended up well above .500 and finished second in their areas.
