Purvis accepts head coaching job at South Effingham

For the past two seasons, Loren Purvis has been Morgan County’s offensive coordinator, but will now take on a new role at South Effingham High School, where he was recently named the new head coach. In April, the former Bulldogs’ coordinator and assistant coach announced the news via his Twitter.

Titans sweep Christian Heritage, make program history to advance

Morgan falls to Blue Devils in game three

The series between Morgan County and Columbus in the second round of the Class AAA state playoffs came down a game three, which is where the Blue Devils came away with a big 6-4 win.

Lake Oconee FCA hosts golf tournament

This upcoming Monday, the lake area division of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be hosting a golf tournament fundraiser at the Oconee Course at Reynolds in Greensboro.

Gators finish strong at state meet

The Gatewood boys and girls track and field teams both placed in the top three at the GIAA Class AA state track meet last week. The boys finished in second place with a score of 83 points, and the girls came in third place with a total of 61 points.

Paul reflects on how this Bulldogs’ team was his favorite

Morgan County boys’ soccer coach Aaron Paul would be remiss if he didn’t say this season’s team was his favorite to coach, especially after how hard his guys battled through adversity all year long. Despite not reaching the third round as the Bulldogs had hoped, Paul enjoyed every second of 2023.

LOA boys, girls tennis cruises to Final Four
