Morgan County's Jefferies, Simmons sign to play at next level

After helping Morgan County win the GHSA Class 2A championship in March, seniors Kobi Jefferies and Jacoby Simmons are taking the next step in their basketball careers.

DOGS ON TOP! Morgan County sweeps Pierce County for first-ever state baseball title

STATESBORO - For the first time in program history, the Morgan County Bulldogs are state champions.No. 2 seed Morgan County swept top-seeded Pierce County in the GHSA Class 2A championship series at J.I. Clements Stadium, clinching the title with a dominant 9-0 victory in Game 2 on May 25.

Tigers use spring to build new identity

Spring practice gave new Greene County head coach Chris MacFarland his first opportunity to evaluate the Tigers on the field after taking over the program earlier this offseason.The spring was centered more on teaching and establishing fundamentals than worrying about results.

Morgan track & field excels at state meet

ATHENS — Morgan County’s track and field teams competed in the 2026 GHSA Class 2A state championship on May 14 at the University of Georgia’s Spec Towns Track, sending 18 athletes to the season’s final meet.

Multiple Titans earn All-Region honors

The Lake Oconee Academy boys soccer team capped another successful season, with several players earning Class A Division II Region 5 first-team honors.Leading the list of postseason honors for the Titans was Leo Inostrosa, who was named the Region Player of the Year.

Dogs scrimmage Walnut Grove to wrap up spring

Morgan County wrapped up its spring football slate on May 14, hosting Walnut Grove for a scrimmage.The Thursday night matchup between the Bulldogs and Warriors gave several new faces a chance to showcase their potential ahead of the 2026 season.
