Dawgs punch ticket to Super Regionals

ATHENS — Georgia once again proved why it was one of the nation’s top teams.The No. 3 national seed Bulldogs rolled through the NCAA Athens Regional baseball tournament this past weekend with three consecutive victories, outscoring opponents 30-5 and earning a spot in the Super Regional round.

Brown returns home to help lead Lady Dogs

Morgan County is bringing one of its own back home.Former Lady Bulldog standout Alexis Brown has been named co-head coach of the Morgan County girls basketball team, joining Cody Anderson in a unique leadership arrangement designed to build on the program’s recent success.

Gators win program’s fifth state title

STATESBORO — If there was any doubt about Gatewood’s status as the GIAA’s premier baseball program over the past four seasons, the Gators’ latest state championship run put those questions to rest.

In his first season leading the Morgan County golf program, head coach Chris Nelson saw plenty of reasons to be encouraged.

LOA girls golf claims fourth straight title

The Lake Oconee Academy girls golf team capped another dominant season May 19 by capturing its eighth state championship at the GHSA Class A Division I tournament at Willow Lake Golf Club in Metter.The title also marked the Lady Titans’ fourth consecutive championship, all under coach Alan Dodds.

Morgan County seniors reflect on unforgettable season

STATESBORO — Morgan County’s baseball team completed a season to remember, sweeping Pierce County to capture the 2026 GHSA Class 2A state championship.The series marked the culmination of a historic season for the Bulldogs and the end of the high school careers of 11 seniors.
