Stanley C. “Stan” Sharp III, 74, of Greensboro, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026.
Stan was born Dec. 11, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Stanley C. Sharp Jr. and Edith Crawley Sharp. During his childhood, the family relocated to Jackson, Mississippi, where he spent his formative years.
He graduated from Murrah High School in 1970 and went on to attend Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee (formerly Southwestern at Memphis), earning a degree in economics. After college, Stan moved to Atlanta and began his career with Cushman & Wakefield. He later founded his own commercial real estate brokerage, specializing in medical real estate.
Stan met his wife, Florence “Flo” White, in 1995, and they married in 1997. The couple lived in Marietta for 23 years, where they were active members of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Stan served as an elder and chairman of Buildings and Grounds, and he and Flo taught five-year-old Sunday school together.
He was passionate about volunteering and was recognized for his work with the Atlanta Union Mission. In 2020, Stan and Flo retired to Lake Oconee to be closer to family. They became members of Madison Presbyterian Church, continuing their dedication to faith and service.
An avid golfer, Stan was a member of Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina. He especially enjoyed biannual golf trips with a close-knit group of friends — relationships that spanned more than 40 years.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Flo; his daughter, Rebecca L. Endress, and her husband, Jonah, of Greensboro; and his grandson, Colton James Endress. He is also survived by two sisters, Susan Pressler (Dale) of Dallas, Texas, and Lisa Newcomb (Harold) of Batesville, Mississippi; two nieces, Anna McLemore (Jay) of Jackson, Tennessee, and Jennifer Wilson (Darren Haun) of Knoxville, Tennessee; one nephew, Tyler Gainer (Jenna) of Brookfield, Wisconsin; two great-nieces, Everleigh Gainer of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Louise McLemore of Jackson, Tennessee; and his sister-in-law, Ann Gainer (Keith) of Stockbridge, Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 29, at 1 p.m. at Madison Presbyterian Church, 382 S. Main St., Madison. A reception followed the service.
Stan will be remembered for his wit, his devotion as a father and “Papa,” his deep love for family and friends, and the 29 years he shared with Flo. His unwavering faith and commitment to his church were a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
