Michael “Mike” Booth Storey, 77, of Buckhead, Georgia, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by family on December 24, 2024.
Mike was born on March 20, 1947, in Elkton, Tennessee, to Albert Elmo and Frances Loyd Storey. After graduating high school, Mike joined the U.S. Army, serving overseas in Vietnam.
After returning home, he married Shelby Jean Rodgers of Elkton, Tennessee.
Mike and Shelby went on to have one son, Michael Anthony Storey, and twin grandchildren, Alyssa Jade Storey and Lukas Alexander Storey. He and Shelby have resided in Putnam County for the last 34 years, during which time he volunteered with the fire department for 15 years. During this time, he helped organize the Sugar Creek FD and built Station 11.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding jet skis on the lake, and riding his motorcycle to new places. His family will remember his sense of humor and adventure.
Mike was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy and Carol. He is survived by his wife, Shelby, his brother, Wilbur, his son, Anthony (Paula), and his grandchildren, Alyssa (Eddie) and Lukas (Kaylie).
The funeral service was held on Friday, December, at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The burial took place later in Elkton, TN.
