Betty Clyde Worthen Griffith, 81 of Union Point, GA passed away Monday, April 17, 2023.
She was born in Washington, GA to the late Carroll Bynum Worthen and Ella Vashti Taylor Worthen. She grew up in Union Point where she graduated from Union Point High School.
On March 4, 1966, she married John Franklin Griffith. After her marriage and the birth of their two sons, she became a homemaker enjoying raising the boys.
She was the number one fan of her grandchildren’s softball games. As a longtime member of Bethesda Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School and was a member of the WMU.
Preceding her in death was her husband, John “Sonny” Griffith; son, Mike Griffith; sister, Carolyn Stewart; and brother, Larry Worthen.
Survivors include her son, Joey (Libby) Griffith; sister, Faye Worthen; grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Dyches, B J Callaway, Valerie Bryant, and Rebecca (Chris) Mency; great-grandchildren, Joleigh, Madelyn, and Griffin Dyches, and Brinden Griffith along with Alana and Amaya Mency.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church, 1560 Bethesda Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669 with Dr.Terry Duvall officiating.
Visitation was held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time for the service. Serving as pallbearers were Joey Griffith, Brian Stewart, Chris Dyches, B J Callaway, Sandy Thornton, and Darrell Kitchens. Interment was in the church cemetery following the service.
