Barbara Ann Stewart Norris, age 83, of Union Point, GA passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her residence with her family.
Born on October 19, 1939, in Washington, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Louis Clayton Stewart and Martha Dean Stewart. Barbara graduated from Union Point High School and was the receptionist and bookkeeper for Dr. William H. Rhodes in Union Point for many years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point where she was very active as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of the Union Point Garden Club and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a wonderful mother to her sons who will miss her dearly.
Playing the piano, sewing, and reading are what she enjoys during her spare time.
Survivors include her sons, Stewart Edward Norris of Union Point, Georgia, William Louis Norris of Union Point, Georgia, and Daniel Allen (Lisa) Norris of Acworth, Georgia; grandchildren, Julianna Dean Texada (Dr. John); Clayton Lee Norris (Lourann), Carson Bennett Norris, and Catherine Grace Norris; great-grandchildren, Hart Norris and Collin Texada; sisters, Peggy S. English of Bogart, Georgia and Rebecca S. Wilkes (Rusty) of Watkinsville, Georgia; and a number of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bennett Lee Norris, Jr.
Memorial Services were held Friday, September 15, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 206 Thornton Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Alec Ward officiating. Internment followed at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669.
