Thomas Philip Clement, a resident of Greensboro, GA died on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, on his 86th birthday.
He was born on May 30, 1937, in New York, New York, and was the son of the late Philip Thomas Clement of Long Island, New York, and Esther Jones Clement of Neenah, Wisconsin.
He was the Valedictorian of his high school class and a graduate of Lawrence University where he majored in economics and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
On March 18, 1957, he married the former Phyllis Catherine Larnino in Debuke, Indiana.
After college, Tom proudly served his country from 1957 to 1963 as a Pilot in the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged as a Captain. For over 35 years, he worked for IBM as a Sales and Marketing Executive and Branch Manager, living in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Peru, Indiana, Stamford, Connecticut, Denver, Colorado, Mobile, Alabama, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Atlanta, Georgia.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime member of the Republican Presidential Task Force. After his retirement in June of 1992, Tom and Phyllis settled in Greensboro where he was an avid golfer and hunter.
He was a member of Reynolds Plantation for 30 years and was the President and Founder of the Oconee Cup Golf Tournament. He spent much of his leisure time with his family who loved him dearly.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Clement of Greensboro, GA; his children, Carin Fernandez and her husband Ed of New Orleans, LA, Kelly Clement of Hickory, NC, Catherine Bell and her husband Dennis of Hickory, NC, Philip Thomas Clement II and his wife Betsy-Brown Clement of Atlanta, GA.
Tom’s siblings are Carle Clement of San Antonio, Texas, and Steve Clement of Monterey, California.
He has five grandchildren, Laura Angelica Dupre, Philip Edward Fernandez, Parker Ashley Lankewicz, Paige Caroline Clement and Thomas Philip Clement II; and three great-grandchildren, Vanessa Kelly Dupre, Audrina Rose Dupre, and Amelia Grace Dupre; and many other relatives and treasured friends.

A Celebration of Tom’s life was held on Friday, July 7th, 2023 at 4 pm at the Lake Club at Reynolds Lake Oconee, 1100 Lake Club Drive in Greensboro, GA.
