Leonard Grier Horton died peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Jan. 4, 2023.
Len was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina to Carl Leonard and Margaret Lee Wilson Horton on a snowy Easter in April 1947. He was the first grandson on both sides of the family.
Another Sister, Kathy Lee was born seven years later, and still another sister Carol Ann was born 14 yrs after that. Len doted on his sisters and often reminisced about being a much older brother. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Horton.
Len is survived by his wife Patti McGinnis Horton of 23 years, and two children, Chris (Jen) Lenoir, NC, and Myra Horton McCarthy (Kevin) Wilmington, NC. He is survived by a sister, Carol Horton of Rock Hill, SC. Len is survived by three Beloved Grandsons, Christopher Horton, Tyler McCarthy and Kyle McCarthy. He is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews, and his Church Family and dear Friends.
Services were held at 2 pm Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Pennington Church 1060 Broughton Road, Madison, GA 30650.
