On the morning of Nov. 29, 2022, Jeanette Carnes, went to her heavenly home at the age of 64.
She passed peacefully holding her husband Rick’s hand. She was surrounded by her loving family for the days preceding during which time loved ones had the privilege of saying goodbyes and letting her know we would see her again soon in heaven.
Jeanette was born to Benson and Loretta Hayes in Atlanta, Georgia in 1958. She married Rick Carnes in 1995.
After a 10-year career in accounting at UPS, they moved to Lake Oconee where she started her own business, Designs by Jeanette, which accentuated her creative talents in painting. Alongside her design business, she became a certified personal trainer following her passion for fitness.
She successfully served hundreds of clients that became friends for over 20 years. Jeanette’s family was her greatest joy in life. Perhaps her favorite role was becoming a caregiver to her daughter Brittney’s two children, Davis and Emerson. Jeanette touched so many lives and will be greatly missed as this world lost a beautiful soul but heaven gained a beautiful angel.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her father Benson Davis Hayes.
She is survived by her husband Rick Carnes, daughter Brittney Stephens, son-in-law Tyler Stephens, grandchildren Davis and Emerson Stephens, mother Loretta Hayes and sister and brother-in-law Drew and Kim Cooper.
