MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Dickson Road address in Rutledge in reference to a stolen firearm. The complainant said a black Ruger LCP II .380 worth $500 was taken from her three months ago. She also said she knows who took it but wouldn’t tell the deputy. The firearm has been entered in the GCIC database as stolen.

Jeremy M. Kerrigan, 34, of Madison was arrested July 15 and charged with DUI and open container.

Alice M. Allman, 47, of Buckhead was arrested July 15 and charged with obstruction of law enforcement.

Morgan County deputies conducted a safety checkpoint at Fairplay Street and Nunn Lane in Bostwick July 15. Four warnings were issued,

Morgan County deputies conducted a safety checkpoint at Seven Islands Road and Bethany Road July 15. One warning was issued as well as one arrest for DUI and open container.

On July 16, Sgt. Brandy Newsome made contact with a complainant about allegations of sexual assault on her juvenile daughter. The case is under investigation by the MCSO.

Morgan County deputies conducted a safety checkpoint July 16 at Cochran Road and Harper Road in Madison. Three warnings were issued.

A Morgan County deputy confiscated a Ruger AR-556 rifle that has illegally been converted into a short barrel pistol. The man who converted it was not arrested but given a warning. He was also given a warning for having a glass pipe with marijuana residue on it.

Kenneth Lee Youngblood, 58, of Madison was arrested July 18 and charged with DUI, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane, open container and driving while license suspended.

MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Lorenzo L. Ingram, 39, of Albany was arrested July 14 and charged with theft by shoplifting. According to the report, Ingram took a television, a child’s jacket, a child’s toy and three breakfast biscuits from the T/A truck stop on Eatonton Road.

A Madison police officer was contacted July 13 by a Truist bank customer who said that someone had used his debit card to purchase $150 of diesel fuel at the Pilot truck stop in Madison.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Pilot truck stop July 12 in reference to a shoplifting complaint. An employee said a man tried to purchase $94 in merchandise, but when his transaction didn’t go through, he picked up his items and left the store. Police officers conducted a sweep of the area but the man was not found.

I warrant has been obtained for the arrest of Leonard Lee Davis on charges of battery under the family violence statute and cruelty to children. According to the incident report, Davis struck to women in front of 6-year-old child and left the scene. Davis was contacted by phone, and he said he was merely defending himself.

A Madison police officer received a report regarding possible elder financial abuse from Wells Fargo. The report stated that Madison woman was contacted by someone claiming to represent Wells Fargo who was then able to login to her account and steal $500. The victim received a credit from Wells Fargo and did not wish to pursue the matter further.

GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

On July 15, deputies arrested Brittany Nicole Caufield of 1501 Reid Duvall Road, Madison for disorderly conduct.

On July 13, deputies arrested Deshon Lamel Charles, 5467 Northcut Drive, Atlanta, on a probation violation.

On July 12, deputies arrested Travis Frank Chester, 1685 Brownsmill Chase, Lithonia, on a probation violation.

On July 17, deputies arrested Alan Michael Steven Gillins Cowell, 4 Andrena Drive, Sumter, South Carolina for failure to dim lights and DUI.

On July 15, deputies arrested Tyrecus Tyrone Davis, 33350 Oakridge Drive, Augusta, on a probation violation.

On July 15, deputies arrested Dietra Samonia Hall, 1030 Smith Street, White Plains, for disorderly conduct.

On July 16, Deputies arrested Derrick Conrad Hunter, 1200 Farmington Road, Madison, for speeding, open container and DUI.

On July 14, Deputies arrested Daquan Marquel Kinloch, 3281 Hwy 41, Huger, South Carolina, on four counts of theft by Receiving Stolen Property, four counts of tampering with evidence and four counts of forgery of financial transaction cards.

On July 13, deputies arrested Christopher Raymond Knight, 5791 Union Point Hwy, Union Point, for public intoxication.

On July 14, deputies arrested Devonte Deon Pope, 2120 Cochran Road, Madison, for simple battery.

On July 14, deputies arrested Luella Denise Thwreatt, 959 United Avenue SE, Atlanta, for forgery in the first degree and giving false statements.

On July 14, deputies arrested Felicia Ann Ward, 202 Powers Street, Union Point, for criminal trespass.

GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Sunday, July 10, while patrolling the area of Oconee Avenue, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a tag light requirement. Officer initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle failed to stop and turned onto Allen Circle to lot No. 145. Officers made contact with the driver, Otis Chester III, 39, of Greensboro and he was arrested on charges of violating the tag light requirement, open container, DUI and driving while license suspended.

On Sunday, July 10, officers responded to the area of Pinecrest Drive in reference to a verbal dispute. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other to avoid any further conflict.

On Sunday, July 10, officers responded to the area of West Richland Avenue in reference to a theft by taking complaint. The complainant stated that his leaf blower and weed eater had been taken from the residence. After further investigation, it was determined that his brother borrowed the equipment without informing the complainant. There was no further incident.

On Sunday, July 10, while patrolling the area of North West Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a tag light requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop and the driver, Leleka Kaylesha Redd, 39, of White Plains was arrested and transported to the Greene County LEC where she was booked on the charges of a tag light requirement and driving while license suspended.

On Monday, July 11, while patrolling the area of MLK Jr. Drive, officers observed a vehicle fail to maintain lane. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver Jaime Ortega, 42, of Greensboro. was arrested on charges of failing to maintain lane, driving without license, DUI and an open container violation.

On Monday, July 11, officers responded to the area of Rachel Street in response to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that the apartment manager falsely accused her of sending photos of unknown persons hanging out at another unit. Both tenants stated that the apartment manager is attempting to create problems between the tenants.

On Tuesday, July 12, officers responded to the area of South Main Street in reference to an open door. The building was cleared and secured.

On Thursday, July 14, while patrolling the area of North Walnut Street, officers observed a vehicle with the driver not wearing a seatbelt. Officers initiated a traffic stop and driver, Jaterrius Damonta Scott, 27, of Greensboro was arrested on the charges of a seatbelt violation and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

On Saturday, July 16, officers responded to the area of West Broad Street in response to an armed robbery. The complainant stated that an unknown person knocked on this door, attacked him with a hammer, and took $6,000.00 from his pockets. The incident was turned over to investigations.

For the week of July 10-16, the Greensboro Police Department responded to three accidents and 52 citations were issued.
