MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to an Atlanta Highway address July 8 in reference to a stolen firearm. The complainant said he placed a 9mm Taurus G2 Millennium belonging to his grandfather on top of a freezer in his residence the previous weekend, and it was missing when his grandfather asked for it back on July 8. No suspects were indicated.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Dixie Highway address July 10 in reference to a damage to property complaint. The complainant said someone had set fire to his mailbox, marking the second time in two weeks, a mailbox in Morgan County had been set ablaze.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Prospect Road address July 10 in reference to harassment complaints.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched Malcom Road address in Bostwick in reference to a request to speak with a deputy.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Deerwood Road address July 11 in reference to a death investigation.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a West Main Street address in Rutledge July 11 in reference to a civil dispute.
Jakobitan T. Hart, 23, of Warrenton was arrested July 9 and charged with driving without a valid license, speeding in excess of maximum state limits, attempting to elude a police officer, possession of marijuana, open container, hit and run and obstruction of law enforcement.
Cortavious D. Reese, 24, of Norwood was arrested July 9 and charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction.
Abigail Davis, 25, of Madison was arrested July 8 on a warrant out of Jasper County.
Richard Wommack, 30, of Madison was arrested July 9 and charged with criminal trespassing and terroristic threats and acts.
Robert A. Lowe, 37, of Rutledge was arrested July 10 and charged with DUI and hit and run.
MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT
A Madison police officer was dispatched to Ingles July 7 in reference to a violation of a restraining order complaint. The complainant said she has a restraining order in place that prohibits an individual from being near her, but the individual came to her Ingles while she was there. Video evidence confirmed his presence, but he apparently did not make contact with the complainant according to the report.
A Madison police officer responded to Walmart July 3 in reference to shots fired in the parking lot. The complainant said two males got into a physical altercation, and one of them retrieved a pistol from his car and fired a shot into the air. Video evidence is under review.
A Madison police officer responded to a Cedar Drive address July 6 in reference to a lost or stolen handgun report. The complainant said his Springfield XP40 was missing from his 2010 Volvo XC60. The complainant also said he kept the gun in the glove box and hadn’t seen it since February. However, he said the Volvo had been taken to two different shops in Madison since then.
Odeen Stanley Lynch, 30, of Snellville was arrested June 23 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotics.
Deanarius Corey Carter, 35, of Madison was arrested July 5 and charged with theft by taking. According to the report, Carter is accused of stealing tips from tables at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. He has been trespassed from Cracker Barrel as well.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Pilot station on Eatonton Road July 5 in reference to a missing seal on a trailer. The complainant said parked his tractor trailer at the Pilot and when he returned to pick it up the seal on the trailer was gone. The trailer contained tires, but the complainant did not think any had been taken.
Derrick Javon Waller, 33, of Athens was arrested June 23 and charged with DUI (drugs) and failure to maintain lane.
Deborah Sasha Annan, 19, of Madison was arrested June 30 and charged with driving while license suspended and possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce).
Davon Jarrel Gaines, 32, of Richmond, Virginia, was arrested June 29 and charged with a violation of Madison’s disorderly conduct ordinance.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to Walmart July 7 in reference to possible counterfeit money being passed. Walmart’s loss prevention officer said a Black male attempted to pass what the store believed to be counterfeit money. After the bills where checked, the man took them and left the store according to the report.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Meadow Ridge Drive address July 7 in reference to the theft of a riding lawnmower. As Officer Mike Maxwell was leaving the scene, he noticed the lawnmower parked next to a shed at neighbor’s home. The complainant retrieved her mower. No contact was made with the resident.

On July 7, deputies arrested Roy Warren Bennett of 907 Watson Ave., Union Point, for battery.
On July 5, deputies arrested Deleon Burdette of 1411 Old Siloam Rd., Union Point, for failure to maintain lane, driving while license suspended, and driving on roadways laned for traffic.
On July 5, 2022, deputies arrested Sharmaine R. Campbell of 316 N. West Street, Apt 209, Greensboro, for simple battery.
On July 5, deputies arrested Marco Antonio Figueroa Jr. of 6731 Veazey Road, Greensboro, for a violation of taillight requirements and driving while license suspended.
On July 7, deputies arrested Kaleb Anthony Green of 611 Woodland Court, Union Pont, for criminal damage to property in the 2nd Degree.
On July 4, deputies arrested Jayquan Lewis Jones of 106 Meadowwood Terrace, Stonecrest, for speeding, not using the seatbelt, and driving while license suspended.
On July 4, Deputies arrested Shantrese Milline of 2320 Emerald Springs Drive, Decatur, for improper stopping in the roadway and DUI.
On July 5, deputies arrested James Edward Saunders of 1290 Green Acres Drive, Union Point, on a probation violation.
On July 5, deputies arrested Tara Venice Swain of 502 Cherry Street, for failure to appear.
On July 7, deputies arrested Kevin Lavar West of 1010 Holly Circle, Greensboro, for driving while license suspended.
On July 6, deputies arrested Kenya Devon Westmoreland of 110 Wynfield Way SW, Atlanta, on a probation violation.
GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On Sunday, July 3, officers responded to the area of North West Street in reference to a suspicious person. The complainant stated that she saw a shadow walk by her door, and when she got up to check, she noticed her door was unlocked. The complainant stated that she called her roommate who stated that she had not been home in a week. The complainant was advised to change her locks.
On Monday, July 4, officers met with a complainant in the area of West South Street who stated that she lost her phone in the area of West North Street. Attempts to call the phone were unsuccessful. The complainant was advised that a report would be completed and available within three to five business days.
On Tuesday, July 5, officers responded to the area of Rachel Street in reference to a physical altercation. The complainant stated that she was confronted by another individual on Bush Street. The individual exited her vehicle, approached the complainant’s vehicle and began to punch her in the face, causing injuries to her left eye and upper lip. The complainant stated that she was unable to call 911 at the time of the altercation because she was unable to see. Officers were not able to speak with any witnesses at the time of the report. The complainant was advised of the TPO and warrant process.
On Tuesday, July 5, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a tag requirement. After an attempt to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle was unable to be located. The driver, who was identified as James Alan Channel, 32, of Greensboro. Records showed that Channel had multiple license suspensions. A warrant was issued for driving while license suspended.
On Tuesday, July 5, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed with an obstructed tag. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Edgar Eli Peralta, 32, of Madison. After further investigation, Peralta was arrested on charges of obscured tag and driving while license suspended.
On Thursday, July 7, officers responded to the area of Cherry Street in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated he got into an argument with an individual in the residence. The complainant said the argument became physical when Brian A. Dorsey, 37, of Greensboro threw a beer can at him and struck him in the head. Officers observed a large welt where the can hit his head. Dorsey was not in the area at the time of the report. A warrant for battery was issued for Dorsey.
On Thursday, July 7, officers responded to the area of South Main Street in reference to a verbal dispute. The complainant stated that a couple had been arguing for the past couple of hours and the male threatened to harm himself. The couple was advised to separate for the day and the scene was turned over to EMS.
On Thursday, July 7, while patrolling the area of South Walnut Street, officers observed a vehicle driven by a man who had active warrants for arrest. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and Henry Markel Dorsey, 39, of Greensboro GA was arrested on a warrant out of Morgan County.
On Thursday, July 7, while patrolling the area of West Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle in which the driver had an active warrant. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by James Alan Channell, 32, of Greensboro. Channell was arrested on charges of an obscured tag violation and driving while license suspended. Channell was also served his warrant out of Greensboro for driving while license suspended.
On Thursday, July 7, officers responded to the area of East South Street in reference to a verbal dispute. The complainant stated that she had a dispute with her husband and decided to leave to go over her mother’s house. The complainant stated that she changed her mind and decided to stay to work things out. The complainant’s son got her keys, started the car, and told her that he wanted to leave. An argument ensued with the complainant and her son when she snatched her keys from his hand causing a cut on his finger. The husband stated that the complainant hit her son in the head with a phone and hit him in his face. The complainant, Lilian M. Delgado, 35, of Greensboro was arrested on the charge of simple assault under the family violence statute.
On Friday, July 8, while patrolling the area of South Main Street, officers observed a vehicle passing multiple vehicles in a no passing zone. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Tyler Stephen Bennett, 32, of West Hollywood. After further investigation, Bennett was arrested on a warrant out of Morgan County.
On Friday, July 8, while patrolling the area of West Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a taillight requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle, and the driver was identified as Jilbardo Lopez Raudales, 48, of Greensboro. After further investigation, Raudales was arrested on charges of a violating taillight requirements, driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.
On Friday, July 8, Merkisha Ann Shelton, 44, of Greensboro was arrested on a warrant out of Greene County.
On Saturday, July 9, while patrolling the area of North Eat Street, officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Brian A. Dorsey, 37, of Greensboro. After further investigation, Dorsey was arrested on a warrant out of Greensboro.
On Saturday, July 9, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed an individual on a moped swerving in opposite lanes of traffic. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and Larry Dean Jones, 62, of Union Point was arrested on the charge of DUI.
For the week of July 3-9, the Greensboro Police Department responded to zero accidents, and 51 citations were issued.
