MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a High Shoals Road address on June 15 in reference to a property damage complaint. The complainant said that a temporary power pole cable connected to the property’s well was cut during the night.
Kolton Taylor, 33, of Madison was arrested on June 15 and charged with DUI (drugs) and speeding (69 mph in a 45-mph zone).
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Plum Street address on June 20 in reference to a theft complaint. The complainant said her debit card and a check were missing.
Denarius Corey Carter, 35, of Madison was arrested June 16 and charged with giving a false name to law enforcement and driving while his license was suspended; the possession of cocaine charge is pending following results from the GBI Crime Lab.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a location near milepost 109 on I-20 in reference to a theft on June 16. The complainant said a wheel had been stolen off of an orange message board trailer belonging to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Morgan County deputies conducted a safety checkpoint at Fairplay and Sandy Creek roads on June 17. One warning was issued and one drug case was initiated.
Mercedes Shaquan Hyman, 32, of Augusta was arrested on June 18 and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and speeding (97 mph in a 70-mph zone).
Morgan County deputies responded to I-20 on June 20 in reference to two vehicles striking debris in the roadway. One vehicle had to be towed but the other motorist was able to zip-tie parts together and continue.
A Morgan County deputy and a Madison police officer were dispatched to I-20 on June 20 in reference to a reported suicidal suspect with loaded handgun driving at an unsafe speed on the interstate. Law enforcement stopped the driver near milepost 110 and found a suicide note in his passenger seat beneath the gun. The man agreed to be sent to Morgan Medical Center for a mental evaluation and realized he needed help.
Winston Labon, 38, of Madison was arrested on Jun 20 and charged with aggravated assault (family violence), battery (family violence) and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Timothy Michael Autry, 73, of Rutledge was arrested on June 20 and charged with making terroristic threats and simple assault.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Sandy Creek Lane address regarding a theft complaint. The complainant said a clutch kit, a jug cylinder, carburetor and fork rebuild kit for his dirt bike had been stolen around 5 p.m. on June 16. The stolen items were valued at an estimated $1,200.
Hubert Joshua Wade, 22, of Madison was arrested on June 19 and charged with reckless driving, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Timothy Allen, 22, of Madison was arrested June 19 on a warrant out of Morgan County for failure to appear. He was also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Cardasha Mona Harris, 23, of Madison was arrested on June 19 and charged with disorderly conduct.
MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT
A warrant has been obtained for the arrest of Benjamin Joseph Morris, 40, of Eatonton on the charge of felony damage to property that occurred June 12.
On June 15, a Madison police officer met with a local resident who reported the theft of a Browning 9mm handgun.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Golden Pantry store on North Main Street on June 15 in reference to a three-year-old child wearing only a diaper that had walked across three lanes of traffic on North Main without anyone around to accompany the child. The temperature was 102 degrees. According to the report, it was the second time the child was seen crossing the street. The child’s parent was located at a residence across the street and said he was unaware his children had gone across the street to the store.
Joseph Wesley Brown, 29, of Conyers was arrested on June 11 and charged with disorderly conduct and interference with the business of another.
Angela Daniel Speer, 29, of Madison was arrested on June 13 and charged with shoplifting. According to the report, Speer is being accused of stealing $9,000 worth of lottery scratch-off tickets.
GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On Sunday, June 12, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a tag light requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Brian Antonio Dorsey, 37, of Greensboro. After further investigation, Dorsey was arrested on charges a tag light requirement violation, open container and DUI (alcohol).
On Sunday, June 12, officers responded to the area of 103 West 4th Street in reference to damage to property complaints. The complainant stated that she pulled into her driveway and had a mild seizure and hit another car parked in the carport.
On Monday, June 13, while patrolling the area of Oconee Avenue, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a taillight requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Juan Garcia Dimingo, 32, of Greensboro. After further investigation, Dimingo was arrested on charges of a taillight requirement violation, DUI (alcohol), driving without a license, no valid insurance and suspended registration.
On Monday, June 13, while conducting foot patrol the area of MLK Jr. Drive, officers were informed of a medical emergency in a nearby apartment. Officers were able to calm the resident down until EMS arrived. The scene was turned over to Greene County EMS.
On Tuesday, June 14, while patrolling the area of Airport Road, officers observed an open door of a building. The area was searched and cleared; the key holder was notified.
On Tuesday, June 14, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a female in the parking lot of Citgo with an active warrant for arrest. Officers confirmed the warrant with Greene County E911 and made contact with the female who was identified as Sheila Verna Jones, 63, of Greensboro. Jones was arrested and served her warrant.
On Tuesday, June 14, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle traveling west with no headlights on at 11:47 pm. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Brandon Owens, 28, of Greensboro. After further investigation, Owens was arrested on the charges of a headlight requirement violation and driving while his license was suspended.
On Tuesday, June 14, officers responded to the area of Gordon Street in reference to a verbal argument. The complainant was advised of the eviction process.
On Tuesday, June 14, officers responded to the area of North West Street in reference to a harassment complaint. The complainant stated that an individual had been threatening her and came to her residence looking for her. After further investigation, Nicholas Marquias Calhoun, 24, and Aaliyah De’Janae Cole, 19, both of Eatonton, were issued criminal trespassing warnings for the property of Mary Leila Lofts located at 316 North West Street, Greensboro.
On Thursday, June 16, officers responded to the Mary Leila Lofts located on North West Street in reference to found drug-related items. The items were placed into evidence.
On Thursday, June 16, officers responded to the area of North Main Street in reference to a dog bite. The incident was turned over to animal control.
On Thursday, June 16, officers responded to the Boys & Girls Club located on MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a civil matter. The complainant stated that a member broke a window of the building. Officers spoke with the parent of the member and the complainant, and they came to an agreement for payment of the window. Both parties were advised that they would need to handle the matter in Magistrate Court.
On Thursday, June 16, officers responded to Walgreens located on East Broad Street in reference to a hit and run. The complainant stated that someone backed into his vehicle, got out and looked at damages and then left the scene. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Thursday, June 16, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a verbal dispute. The complainant stated that an argument began when someone stole her cigar. After further investigation, the complainant was found to have a criminal trespassing warning for the property. Officers arrested Leleka Kayleshe Redd, 39, of White Plains on the charge of criminal trespassing.
On Thursday, June 16, while patrolling the area of Canaan Circle, officers observed an individual with an active warrant sitting on the porch of a residence. Officers made contact with Kyle Lebron Peak, 52, of Greensboro who was arrested and booked on a warrant out of Greene County.
On Thursday, June 16, officers responded to the area of Chapel Street in reference to a nuisance dog complaint. The complainant stated that a pit bull had been chasing his nephews around when they go outside. The dog was not located at the time of the report. The complainant was advised to call 911 if he saw the dog again. Animal control was notified of the complaint.
On Friday, June 17, officers responded to the Jimmy Britt Chevrolet on Town Creek Blvd. in reference to an alarm activation. All windows and doors were secured. The key holder was notified.
On Friday, June 17, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a suspicious person on the property of the Boys & Girls Club. The individual was taken into custody and transported to Good Samaritan for a mental evaluation.
On Friday, June 17, officers responded to the area of Armour Circle in reference to a suspicious person yelling in the bushes behind a residence. Officers made contact with the individual who was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for a mental evaluation.
On Saturday, June 18, officers responded to the area of Mill Street in reference to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that someone lit a firecracker next to his residence causing a dark grey spot on the home. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area at the time of the report. The complainant was advised that extra patrol would be done in the area.
On Saturday, June 18, officers responded to the Holiday Lodge located on Old Eatonton Road in reference to an unwanted person. The complainant stated that an individual took his keys and phone while he slept. Due to the complainant being intoxicated at the time of the report, the complainant was advised to call 911 after he slept the alcohol off if he still wanted to file a report.
On Saturday, June 18, officers responded to the area of Chestnut Street in reference to a runaway juvenile from Banks County at the residence. After further investigation, the juvenile was returned to back to her father.
For the week of June 12-18, the Greensboro Police Department responded to four accidents, and 59 citations were issued.
