The Greene County Board of Education took out its checkbook during its June 20 meeting and spent approximately $2,324,000, with the lion’s share going to materials for the new Greene County Elementary School and enhancements for Tiger Stadium.

Throughout June, the Greene County School System’s Summer Feeding Program provided free meals to underserved community families.The seasonal program runs annually after the regular school year ends, and breakfast and lunch are available to children up to 18 years old.

The City of Madison adopted its budget for FY2025 at its meeting on June 17.Madison City Manager John Klimm and Finance Director Karen Stapp presented the FY2025 budget to Mayor Fred Perriman and council members on May 17. The council voted to adopt it precisely one month later.
