Local animal rescues receive spay/neuter grants

Every year, the Georgia Department of Agriculture awards grants to animal shelters and rescues through its Dog and Cat Sterilization Program, which aims to provide financial assistance for procedures that target pet overpopulation.

Community review panel involved in police chief search

The City of Madison has engaged a community review panel in its search for a new chief of police to replace Bill Ashburn, who served in that capacity for more than a decade before retiring in April. Interim Chief Roy Whitehead has been leading the department since Ashburn’s departure.

JDA provides update on Rivian’s Georgia plant

Greene County BOC hears complaints about courthouse proposal

More than 100 people showed up Monday morning for a special called meeting of the Greene County Board of Commissioners about the future of the county courthouse, which sits on a one-block, county-owned island in the middle of downtown Greensboro.

MAD Hospitality sees success since 2020 opening

MAD Hospitality of downtown Madison was established in 2020 by Thomas Preston Real Estate. After four years of business, the company owns seven projects, including five restaurants, a unique event venue, and The New South Motor Inn at 1240 Eatonton Rd.
