Greene BOC moves forward with courthouse renovation

The Greene County Board of Commissioners approved a plan on March 11 to designate space allocation and rehabilitate the historic courthouse in downtown Greensboro, following several meetings of the Courthouse Vacant Space Allocation Committee.

Family, rescuers give insight on search for missing boater

The month-long mystery of the missing boater on Lake Oconee came to an end Sunday.  A specialized search and recovery team from Wisconsin found the body of Gary Jones.

Body of missing boater recovered

The body of Gary Jones was recovered about noon Sunday, March 9, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said.Keith Cormican of Bruce’s Legacy in Wisconsin found Jones’s body on the 29th day of the search.

Forum introduces Morgan County BOC candidates

Early voting for the March 18 special election kicked off last week. On Feb. 27, Madison City Hall hosted a Q-and-A forum to introduce the candidates running for the District 1 and 5 seats on the Morgan County Board of Commissioners.

South Carolina man arrested for trafficking

A Greene County deputy arrested a Blythewood, South Carolina, man on Feb. 27 for trafficking in psilocybin mushrooms, which are classified as a Schedule I controlled substance.The suspect, Darrian Marquis Schofield, 28, was also cited for alteration of a license plate.According to reports, Lt.

Kinsaul receives national award, named state TOTY finalist
