A revolutionary environmental project in Putnam County moved a step closer to reality Monday night when the Eatonton City Council approved an agreement with a company planning to convert methane gas from dairy cow manure to commercial natural gas.

Greensboro City Council presented with annexation requests

Last week’s Greensboro City Council meeting had several parcel reviews, namely the annexation approvals for 134 acres for Forr Properties of Atlanta.
The initial rezone request was for a planned commercial development along I-20 and Highway 44.

Home invasion suspect accidentally shoots self

A Madison woman was arrested Sept. 9 on multiple charges after an incident on Carey Station Road in Greene County.
Shannon Cerio Stephens, 36, faces charges of aggravated assault, burglary, home invasion and two counts of cruelty to children.

Madison police officer praised for saving infant’s life

Madison Police Chief Bill Ashburn presented a Lifesaving Award to officer Mike Maxwell during the Sept. 12 city council meeting.
According to Chief Ashburn, Maxwell was dispatched to a Bell Circle address in reference to a medical emergency involving a 2-week-old infant on the morning of May 2.

Three women were arrested by Madison police officers after the trio allegedly attacked two postal workers at the Madison post office on Sept 4.
Cacedra Yvette Robinson, 50, of Atlanta was charged with battery.
