Greensboro announces youth council program at meeting

New Greensboro City Manager Jarvis Sims presented a proposal to the city council Monday for a city-sponsored Georgia Youth Program. Many municipalities have similar councils and youth mentoring programs, and this would be among the first efforts of the city to establish an ongoing program.

Gang members face additional charges; behind held without bond

Two Milledgeville teens who were arrested in connection with an early morning shooting at the Shell Food Mart in Eatonton are now facing more charges, including some for firing gunshots inside a residence where two toddlers were at the time. No one was injured in the incident.

New no-wake zone for wakeboard boaters

Early last month, Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 121, which imposes new restrictions on boaters engaged in towing wakeboarders or providing a boat-generated wake for wake surfers.

Greene County identifies areas for housing, retail and industry

The Greene County Board of Commissioners Tuesday approved a wide-ranging update to the Comprehensive Plan that sets up specific areas of the county for future housing, industrial and commercial developments as well as community services, recreation, and broadband internet.
