MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Barney Vincent O’Hara, 40, of North Augusta, South Carolina, was arrested July 20 and charged with driving while license suspended and following too closely.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Project Road address July 20 in reference to a damage to property report. The complainant said a bulldozer had damaged asphalt on a newly paved roadway.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office July 20 to meet with a complainant who said her vehicle had been damaged. It appeared the right rear taillight lens and left rear quarter panel had been damaged by a bullet.

William Maloy of Monroe turned himself in on July 21 on a probation violation warrant.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to an Apalachee Woods Trail address July 21 in reference to the theft of a golf cart.

A Morgan County deputy met with an employee of Fortis Engineering July 21 in reference to a theft. The complainant said a piper laser trivet package valued at approximately $5,720 had been stolen from the business.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Long Lane address in reference to a damage to property report. An employee of Morgan County roads and bridges said that someone had placed rocks and sticks in the gas tank of a county owned forklift. A Morgan County deputy met with a complainant

A Morgan County deputy met with a complainant at the MCSO in reference to a forgery. The complainant said someone had made counterfeit checks and cashed them on his line of credit. The checks totaled more than $40,000.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Pinetree Circle address in reference to a fight. Both parties involved declined to prosecute the other and agree to stay away from each other.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Fawnfield Drive address in Buckhead July 24 in reference to the theft of a boat and trailer. The complainant said a 20-foot Monterey Fiberglass boat and the trailer were taken.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Whispering Lake Trail address July 24 in reference to a domestic incident. A predominant aggressor could not be determined. Dennis Charles Murray, 37, of Augusta was arrested

Dennis Charles Murray, 37, of Augusta was arrested July 24 and charged with DUI (alcohol), fleeing or attempting to elude police officers, speeding, reckless driving, failure to obey a stop sign, a seatbelt violation, driving while license suspended and failure to maintain lane.

Christopher Franklin Cox, 55, of Buckhead was arrested July 25 and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to Tractor Supply on Eatonton Road July 26 in reference to a theft. The complainant said several hats had been stolen by a group of three Black females and a Black male, all of whom had been captured on video. The group left the store in a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer. An inventory revealed that $1,200 in merchandise was missing.

Agustin Lazo Garcia, 55, of Houston, Texas, was arrested July 26 and charged with DUI, hit and run, driving too fast for conditions and following too closely.

MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT

A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Cook Hill Road address July 18 in reference to a property damange complaint. The complainant said unknown persons came onto his property and damaged the driver’s side taillight lense of a 2019 Cadillac CTS and the passenger side taillight lense of a 2007 Nissan Xterra.

Madison police officer Mike Maxwell was dispatched to a Bell Circle address May 5 in reference to a medical emergency involving a two-week-old baby. When Maxwell arrived, he found an unresponsive female child who appeared limp with patchy discolored skin. The child seemed to be having difficulty breathing so Maxwell put her in his right hand over the couch cushions face down and applied a slight tap to her back at which point the infant began to cry and regain her color. EMS then arrived, and Maxwell turned the child over to them.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to Lowe’s July 14 in reference to a shoplifting report. The Lowe’s Loss Prevention Manager said a black male came into the store at 5:30 p.m., grabbed several Lowe’s 5 gallon buckets and began filling up the buckets with DeWalt batteries that he took to his car, making off with $3,400 worth of merchandise he did not pay for according to the report.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Morgan Circle address July 18 in reference to property damage complaint. The complainant said someone punctured all four tires on 1988 Toyota Camry during the night some time after 7 p.m. Surveillance footage of the area is under review.

GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

On July 20, deputies arrested Jabari Curtis Bostick, 1008 Outlook Drive, Grovetown, for failure to appear. On July 23, deputies arrested Felicia Brown, 202

Powers Street, Union Point, for aggravated assault and criminal trespass.

On July 23, deputies arrested Joshua David Mullins, 298 Tyler Drive, Talking Rock, on six counts of accessing of computers for fraudulent purposes. On July 23, deputies arrested Devonte Deon Pope, 1630 Airport Road, Greensboro, for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Sunday, July 17, officers initiated a traffic on a vehicle fleeing from deputies of the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Department. After a brief pursuit, Officers were able to arrest the driver, who was identified as Madarius JaJuan Tremble, 25, of Hephzibah. Tremble was arrested on charges of failure to maintain lane, passing in an no passing zone, failure to stop at a stop sign, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana-less than an ounce, obstruction of law enforcement officers, fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, driving while license suspended and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On Sunday, July 17, officers responded to the area of South Spring Street in reference to a medical emergency. The incident was turned over to Greene County EMS.

On Monday, July 18, officers responded to the area of Apalachee Avenue in reference to a nuisance dog. The owner was notified to secure the dog. There was no further incident.

On Monday, July 18, officers responded to the area of Northeast Street in reference to a dog bite. The incident was turned over animal control.

On Tuesday, July 19, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed an individual at Citgo with an active warrant for arrest. Nick Wayne Jordan, 38, of Greensboro was arrested and transported to the Greene County LEC where he was booked and served his warrant out of Greene County.

On Tuesday, July 19, Officers responded to Tru by Hilton Hotel in the area of Hospitality Drive in reference to an unwanted person on the property. Officers spoke with both parties; they agreed to separate to avoid further conflict.

On Thursday, July 21, officers responded to Horizon Growers in the area of Flowers Road in reference to a verbal altercation. Both parties were advised to separate to avoid any further conflict.

On Thursday July 21, officers responded to the area of Adrian Circle in reference to a person pulling a gun out on another. The complainant stated someone pulled a gun out on him in the area of MLK Jr. Drive. Officers made contact with the other party who stated that nothing happened. Due to conflicting stories, both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

On Friday, July 22, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Alfonzo Thomas Tucker, 27, of Hephzibah. After further investigation, Tucker was arrested on charges of no seatbelt, expired tag, no insurance and driving while license suspended.

On Saturday, July 23, officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of East Broad Street on a vehicle in which the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Officers made contact with the driver and one of the passengers was identified as Maryann Michelle Thompson, 42, of Greensboro. After further investigation, Thompson was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, crossing the guard lines with drugs, possession of drug related objects.

On Saturday, July 23, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle in which the driver was holding a cell phone. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Jaylen Lee, 21, of Athens. After further investigation, Lee was arrested on charges of the hands-free violation and driving without license.

For the week of July 17-23, the Greensboro Police Department responded to two accidents, and 31 citations were issued.
