Dekota Lee Bridges, 18, of Madison was arrested June 8 and charged with possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce), possession and use of drug-related objects and driving while license suspended.
Jeremy Keith Shumate, 38, of Rutledge was arrested June 9 on a warrant.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Ferrell Lane address in Buckhead June 9 in reference to a burglary. The complainant said she came to her brother’s house to check on it, and she saw furniture turned over inside before observing a male jump over the backyard fence. A search dog was unable to locate the male. Nothing appeared to have been taken according to the report.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to an Apalachee Road address June 10 in reference to a criminal trespassing complaint. The complainant said she had seen suspicious persons on her property and a vehicle had sustained minor damage.
A Morgan County deputy as dispatched to an Estes Road address June 10 in reference to a damage to property damage complaint. The complainant said the wires that connect her solar panel batteries to her gate had been cut.
A contractor doing work in the City of Madison reported on June 10 that someone had obtained access to his Facebook account and was demanding money in order to restore control of it to him.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Pinetree Circle address June 12 in reference to a property damage complaint. The complainant said his ex-girlfriend scratched the side of his 2021 Dodge Challenger, but he did not want to press charges. The female was in the area and said she did not scratch the car.
Devin Marquez Garrett, 24, of Madison was arrested June 10 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and speeding (70 mph in a 55-mph zone).
Amasa Morgan Alan Simpson, 21, of Madison was arrested June 13 and charged with possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce), driving while license suspended, crossing a guard line with contraband and possession of drug related objects.
Madison Police Department
A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Madison Industrial Boulevard address in reference to a theft complaint. The complainant said someone cut and removed catalytic converters from several of the company’s vehicles with a reciprocating saw between the evening of June 8 and the morning of June 9. Officer Travis Stubbs located footprints that seemed to originate on Fairground Road. The prints were photographed and measured.
A Madison police officer met with an employee of the Home Depot store located in Greensboro June 2. The man said someone had used his credit card to make fraudulent purchases totaling $601.52 at the store where he works.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Lions Club Road address June 6 in reference to a property damage complaint.
Stephane Kazadi, 46, of Bridgeport, Connecticut was arrested June 6 and charged with disorderly conduct, reckless driving, DUI (refusal), failure to maintain lane, driving without a license, possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce), failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and open container.
Evan Garth Sheldon, 59, of Madison was arrested June 7 and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.
James Walter Hodgson, 50, of Madison was arrested June 7 and charged with public intoxication and criminal trespassing.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Bramblewood Road address June 8 in reference to a juvenile in possession of a handgun. The 15-year-old said someone have given him the pistol two weeks prior. A check of the serial revealed that ACS Hot Day Ad 5.19x7.qxp_ Carolina HotDay Ad it was stolen. The juvenile was then detained.
Greene County Sheriff's Department
Daniel Pitts, 31, of Greensboro was arrested June 13 and charged with criminal trespassing after he was found on the property of the Flying J truck stop in Siloam after having been previously banned from going there.
Ashton Chase Wallace, 36, of Greensboro was arrested June 7 and charged with simple battery under the family violence statute.
Juhisani Junelle Tahir Angol, 22, of Jackson was arrested June 7 and charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
Antonio Delango Brown, 23, of Forsyth was arrested June 7 and charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
Heiber Escobido, 29, of Greensboro was arrested June 7 and charged with driving without a license.
Felecia Ann Ward, 37, of Union Point was arrested June 8 and charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while her license suspended.
Heather Musick, 26, of White Plains was arrested June 9 and charged with battery and cruelty to children in the third degree.
Lily Gail Talley, 47, of White Plains was arrested June 9 and charged with battery and cruelty to children in the third degree. Jett Thigpen was also arrested during the incident.
Greensboro Police Department
On Monday, June 6, officers responded to Ingles located on East Broad Street in reference to a physical assault complaint. The complainant stated that he was pushed in the chest by another individual as he was helping his cousin with her groceries. The offender was not in the area at the time of the report.
On Monday, June 6, officers responded to Green Garden Inn in reference to an assault. The complainant stated that he was hit in the head with a glass bottle. Officers arrested Roderick Deon Johnson, 41, of Greensboro on the charge of aggravated assault.
On Monday, June 6, officers responded to Morningside Apartments in reference to a complaint of someone being stabbed. The complainant stated that he and a friend, Nekita Quatrez Peaks, 57, of Greensboro had been drinking at another residence when an argument ensued. The complainant stated that he began to walk home, and Peaks followed him to his residence stating that he was going to kill him. Peaks then charged at him with two knives and punctured him twice in the chest area. Peaks was unable to be located at the time of the report. Warrants for aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts where issued for Nekita Q. Peaks.
On Monday, June 6, officers responded to the area of Meadowcrest Road in reference to a damage to property complaint. The complainant stated that during a custody exchange with her children’s father he became angry and slapped her in the face causing a laceration on her mouth, kicked her vehicle leaving a dent, ripped off the windshield wipers and a vent at the bottom of the windshield. After further investigation, officers issued five warrants for Damarius Latred Evans, 24, of Eatonton for battery under the family violence statue, two cruelty to children under the family violence statue warrants, and two criminal damage to property under the family violence statute warrants.
On Tuesday, June 7, while patrolling the area of MLK Jr. Drive, officers observed an individual with active felony warrants for arrest sitting on a porch in Canaan Circle. Officers made contact with Nekita Quatrez Peaks, 57, of Greensboro and confirmed the warrants. Peaks was arrested and became belligerent, spitting while yelling threats at the arresting officer. Peaks was was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, simple battery on a Peace Officer and terrorist threats. Peaks was also served two warrants for aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts.
On Tuesday, June 7, officers were contacted via telephone by an individual who stated that a local auto repair shop and towing company refused to present them with a receipt for repairs. The complainant was advised that the issue would need to be handled in Magistrate Court.
On Tuesday, June 7, while patrolling the area of North Walnut Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a tag light requirement. After further investigation, the driver, Merkisha Ann Shelton, 45, of Greensboro was arrested on charges of a tag light requirement, driving while license suspended and driving under the influence of alcohol.
On Wednesday, June 8, while patrolling the area of South Main Street, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (67/45 mph zone). Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Jose Roberto Valdez-Chavez, 24, of Greensboro. Chavez was arrested on charges of speeding and driving without license.
On Thursday, June 9, officers met with a complainant at GPD in reference to a forgery complaint. The complainant stated that an ex-employee may have forged eight checks in the amount of $6,181 against his account. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Friday, June 10, while patrolling the area of Chapel Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a taillight requirement. Officers made contact with the driver, who was identified as Lane Mark Jackson, 63, of Greensboro. After further investigation, the driver and passenger, Richard Lamar Moody, 63, of Greensboro were arrested. Jackson was charged with possession of cocaine and Moody was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug related objects (crack pipe).
On Friday, June 10, officers responded to the area of Mary Leila Lofts in reference to a welfare check.The tenant stated that she was ok but wanted her boyfriend to leave the apartment. The tenant was advised of the eviction process.
On Friday, June 10, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle in which the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts. The driver was identified as Christopher Shannon Hanley, 42, of Pendergrass. Hanley had active warrants out in Barrow County and Jackson County, so he was arrested and transported to the Greene County LEC.
On Friday, June 10, while patrolling the area of Oconee Avenue, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a headlight requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as David Joseph Pahl, 35, of Greensboro. After further investigation, a warrant out of Banks County GA was confirmed and Pahl’s driver’s license was suspended for child support obligations. Banks County confirmed that they did not want to place a hold on Pahl. Pahl was arrested on the charges of a headlight requirement, driving while license suspended and a tag light violation.
On Friday, June 10, while patrolling the area of Pool Road, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a taillight requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Old Union Point Road where they made contact with the driver, Saul Ramos, 34, of Union Point. After further investigation, Ramos was arrested on charges of driving without license and DUI (alcohol).
On Friday, June 10, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle attempting to pass in a no-passing zone. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in which the driver was identified as Nelvy Perez, 26, of Greensboro. After further investigation, Perez was arrested on t charges of passing in a no-passing zone and driving while their license expired.
On Saturday, June 11, officers met with a complainant at GPD in reference to a theft by taking the complaint. The complainant stated that she purchased lumber at Home Depot on Meadowcrest Road and left an envelope containing $1500 on the counter. When she returned to the store, they gave her an envelope containing only $700. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Saturday, June 11, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed an individual with an active warrant for arrest at Citgo. Officers confirmed the warrant and made contact with Jacob Thomas Lindsey, 24, of Greensboro. Lindsey attempted to flee and after a brief struggle, Lindsey was arrested and searched. Upon searching Lindsey, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Lindsey was medically cleared and arrested on charges of obstruction of law enforcement and possession of methamphetamine. He was also served his warrants out of Greene County.
On Saturday, June 11, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle fail to maintain its lane. Officers initiated a traffic stop. Chad Deonta Fulton, 28, of Greensboro was arrested on charges of failing to maintain a lane and driving while license suspended.
On Saturday, June 11, while patrolling the area of West Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light on South Laurel Avenue. Officers initiated traffic and Niesha Latrice Fair, 20, of Greensboro was issued citations for driving while license suspended and no valid insurance.
For the week of June 5-11, the Greensboro Police Department responded to two accidents, and 57 citations were issued.
