MCCS hires new administrators

MORGAN COUNTY

Morgan County Charter Schools recently announced new hires for assistant principal positions at both the middle and high school levels.

The Board of Education approved the hires following its June 1 monthly meeting.

The BOE appointed Chante Harrell as the new assistant principal at Morgan County Middle School, effective at the start of the upcoming school year. More recently, Harrell served as a mathematics teacher at MCHS, as the math department chair, and as an enhanced algebra instructor.

“Dr. Harrell has already made a profound impact on our community through her unwavering commitment to servant leadership,” MCMS Principal Marcus Wyatt said. “As she transitions into her new role, her servant’s heart will continue to keep students at the center of every decision.”

For the high school, the BOE appointed Alecia Smith and Aaron Paul to begin their tenures as assistant principals.

According to MCCS, Smith served in the same position at Louise Radloff Middle School in Gwinnett County, where she “has overseen multiple areas including mathematics, special education, standardized testing, discipline and behavioral supports, Title I programs, summer school, and grade-level operations.”

“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Alecia Smith to our team,” MCHS Principal Noah Harrell said. “With her experience and expertise, she will make a tremendous difference at Morgan County High School.”

Paul is transitioning into his new role after several years as a social sciences teacher at MCHS, head coach of the boys' soccer team, and assistant coach for both JV and varsity teams. He currently serves as director of football operations and head coach for flag football.

“Aaron Paul has been dedicated to Morgan County since 2014,” Harrell said. “His commitment, hard work, and deep understanding of our school community make him a great addition to our administrative team.”
