Victory Train celebrates Christmas with 450 children

Victory Train is an early childhood nonprofit serving children ages zero through five in Greene County. The local organization recently celebrated the Christmas season at a holiday event, gifting educational toys and books to nearly 450 children in the program.

‘Hairspray the Musical’ coming to The Plaza

The beat drops this January as “Hairspray the Musical” bursts onto the stage, live at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. This high-energy, feel-good Broadway favorite premieres Jan. 22 and runs on various dates until Feb. 1 at The Plaza.

Lake Country’s 100 Women creates community impact

A room full of charity-minded women, a few five-minute presentations, and a simple promise to give — that’s the formula for 100 Women Who Care Lake Country (100WWCLC), a Greensboro-based group that continues to make a significant impact for local nonprofits.

Local teen to produce documentary for food pantry

Madison resident Jatavious Ward has spent the past two years running his photography and videography business, “JIT Productions,” covering various areas, including athletic events and weddings.

Lake Oconee Elks support local food banks at Christmas

During November and December, members of the Lake Oconee Elks Lodge donated $2,000 each to the Greene County Food Pantry, the Helping Hands Food Bank in Hancock County, and the Madison-Morgan County Food Pantry.

Santa Claus returns for breakfast at Harbor Club

Santa once again came for breakfast at Harbor Club, and every child was given a selection of books to choose from that Santa could sign.Families and children enjoyed a buffet breakfast and, along with a book signed by Santa, also had their photos taken.
