Get ready for a "swampload" of fun as Shrek The Musical comes to life on stage this week at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton.
A beloved, family-friendly production, Shrek The Musical invites audiences of all ages into a hilarious fairy tale where ogres are heroes, donkeys talk, and true love comes in the most unexpected forms. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film, the musical brings the iconic story to the stage with colorful costumes, energetic choreography, and an unforgettable score.
The story follows Shrek, a grumpy yet lovable ogre whose peaceful swamp is suddenly overrun by a cast of misfit fairy-tale characters.
Determined to reclaim his home, Shrek embarks on an adventure with his wisecracking sidekick, Donkey, to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. Along the way, he discovers that true friendship and love can be found in the most unlikely places.
Audiences can expect a high-energy theatrical experience filled with laugh-out-loud comedy, show-stopping musical numbers, and a heartwarming message about embracing what makes each of us unique.

Shrek The Musical will be performed July 9-12 and July 16-19 at The Plaza Arts Center. Tickets are $15, $20, and $25 and are available at plazacenter.org. The production is presented by The Plaza Arts Center in collaboration with The Arts Barn.
