Girl Scouts learn about water safety

When local Girl Scout Troop leader Tiffany Ogden contacted George Craig at H20 Adventures about teaching a multi-age and skill-level kayaking class, as a former Girl Scout leader herself, Craig jumped at the chance to help parents and their girls put safety before fun.

Chamber hosts 2022 Awards Dinner

The Greene County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual awards dinner at Festival Hall on Sept. 20. The Clayton Street Jazz Band performed throughout the evening, and the food was catered by Lamar Kersey of Kersey Catering.

OPAS brings Broadway to Lake Country

Tony Award-winning conductor Stuart Malina led a 30-piece orchestra Sept. 16 in a presentation of Broadway Sings for OPAS (Oconee Performing Arts Society), featuring musicians culled from orchestras like the Atlanta Symphony, The Augusta Symphony, The Macon Pops and The Atlanta Opera.

‘Mark the Magic Man’ to appear at The Plaza

Local magician and entertainer, Mark the Magic Man, has two shows scheduled for Oct. 15, at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. The first is a 3 p.m. family-friendly presentation, followed by an 8 p.m. show strictly for an adult (18-and-older) audience.
