Spike Dogs receive second-straight championship rings

Morgan County’s volleyball team celebrated its 2025 state championship season with a ring ceremony on May 8 in the school’s auditorium.The Spike Dogs finished the 2025 campaign with a 33-12 record, securing their second consecutive GHSA 2AA state title and third championship in four years.

Back-to-back state champion Spike Dogs collect All-Area awards

Following a successful 2025 campaign that included a second-straight Class AA state championship, the Morgan County volleyball team had several players named to the All-Area team for their performances on the court.

BACK-TO-BACK: Spike Dogs tame Tigers to win state title

Morgan County secured its third state championship in four years with a victory over Ringgold last week in the Class AA title match.The Spike Dogs defeated the Tigers 3-1 to also claim their second consecutive state championship.

Spike Dogs headed back to state title

Morgan County volleyball is headed back to the state championship match after a huge win on Saturday.The Spike Dogs defeated Savannah Arts Academy 3-1 (25-13; 18-25; 25-17; 25-20) in a rematch of last season’s state title.

‘Hard to kill’ Spike Dogs blaze way to Final Four

The Morgan County volleyball team returns to a familiar spot in the postseason after beating Pike County on Tuesday.The No. 1 seed Spike Dogs (31-12) easily defeated the No. 8 Lady Pirates in straight sets, moving on to the Final Four round of the Class AA state playoffs.

Spike Dogs dominate path to win region title

Morgan County’s volleyball team will head into the Class 2A state playoffs next week in a good spot.The Spike Dogs recently wrapped up the regular season with a 27-12 overall record and won the region championship with a perfect 5-0 mark.

Familiarity to play in the Spike Dogs’ favor

Spike Dogs host youth camp

New Morgan County High School volleyball head coach Alan Shultz had a chance to see what the future holds, as the team hosted a youth camp last week with a large number of kids in attendance.Nearly 100 girls packed the school’s competition gym to learn from their varsity and junior varsity peers.
