Monford shines for Tigers at state T&F meet

RJ Monford ended his career with the Greene County track-and-field team as a state champion.Over the weekend, he placed first in the discus competition at the Class A Division II state meet in Albany with a mark of 165-0, earning him a spot at the top of the podium.

Greene County to face tough test in scrimmage

Greene County will play a preseason scrimmage against Northeast (Macon) on Friday night before its season opener next week. The Tigers will face a talented Raiders squad that went 8-3 overall last year in Class A Division I.

COMMERCE — Greene County’s track and field team had a strong showing at the Georgia High School Association’s Class A Division II state meet over the weekend at East Jackson High School.Greene County’s teams combined to have over a dozen athletes compete at the state’s highest level.

Greene County High School football player RJ Monford recently received his first college scholarship offer.Last month, the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) officially offered the Tigers’ linebacker and fullback.
