Tigers, Titans to meet on field for first time

The wait is finally over.The two schools in Greensboro on Highway 44 – Greene County and Lake Oconee Academy – will meet for the first time on the gridiron at Tiger Stadium on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Greene County, Washington-Wilkes renew rivalry

Greene County (5-1) will be at Washington-Wilkes (3-4, 0-1 Class A Divison II Region 8) this Friday.This week’s game will be the region opener for the Tigers from Greensboro. They haven’t played since beating Miller Grove 33-0 on Sept.

Tigers maul Miller Grove in shutout fashion

Class A Division II's No. 6 ranked Greene County easily defeated Class AA opponent Miller Grove, topping the Wolverines 33-0 Saturday afternoon in Greensboro. The Tigers improved to 5-1 overall as they closed out non-region play.

Tigers prepare for Miller Grove after bye

Class A Division II’s No. 6-ranked Greene County will face Class AA’s Miller Grove this Friday at home.The Tigers (4-1) and Wolverines (3-2) are both coming off a bye week. Both will begin region play next week, too.

Greene County grinds out win over Laney

Greene County got back in the win column this past Friday with a 14-8 non-region victory over Laney. The Tigers (4-1), currently ranked No. 6 in Class A Division II, grinded out the win over the Wildcats (3-2).

Greene County looks to regroup against Laney

Following a 35-13 loss to Morgan County last week, Greene County looks to get back in the win column this Friday. Tigers’ head coach, Terrance Banks, had a simple, clear message for his team.“It’s over,” Banks said. “I’m proud of how we responded in the second half.

Tigers top Haralson County on the road

Greene County traveled 135 miles last Friday to Haralson County and returned home with a 25-3 win. The Tigers, currently ranked No. 6 in Class A Division II, dominated the Rebels in all three phases.The game was never in doubt. Greene led 12-3 at the half and pitched a shutout in the second half.

Greene, Morgan to face off on Friday

Greene County and Morgan County, a battle of two ranked and undefeated teams, will meet this Friday in Madison.The Tigers are off to a 3-0 start and are ranked No. 6 in Class A Division II. On the other hand, the Dogs are also 3-0 overall and ranked No. 2 in Class AA.

Tigers break Twiggs, improve to 2-0

Greene County improved to 2-0 on the season with a 36-0 rout of Twiggs County this past week. The Tigers relied heavily on their ground game and dominant defense against the Cobras on the road.Greene head coach Terrance Banks thought his team did better this week at executing the “small things.

Tigers to tangle with Rebels in Tallapoosa

Greene County (2-0) will travel to northwest Georgia this Friday to play Haralson County. It will be the first meeting ever between these teams.The Rebels of Tallapoosa are off to a 1-1 start after going 2-8 last season under former coach Scott Peavey.
