XC: Lady Dogs place 10th in Carrollton during state meet

The Morgan County girls’ cross-country traveled to Carrollton this past weekend for the GHSA Class AAA state meet, and the Lady ‘Dogs left with a 10th-place finish. MCHS girls’ head coach Erin Spinks was proud of her team on their performance.

VOLLEYBALL: Spike Dogs continue to roll into the second round

The Morgan County Spike Dogs continued to play impressive volleyball as the team headed into the first round of the GHSA Class AAA state playoffs Tuesday. The Spike Dogs hosted the Calvary Day Cavaliers and used the home court to their advantage.

BASEBALL: Hudson Reed commits to UGA

The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team has added another Morgan County player from the class of 2026 – Hudson Reed. Reed joins fellow baseball and football teammate Ty Tillery as another Bulldog commit coming from the Diamond Dogs in 2022.

Jack Harper will enter his senior year at Morgan County High School already knowing where he’s going to attend college and continue his baseball career. The Bulldogs’ slugger recently committed to play at the University of South Carolina-Aiken following his final season at MCHS.

BASKETBALL: Anderson ready to “invest” and make an impact

Newly hired Morgan County boys’ basketball coach Cody Anderson is ready to make an impact - both on the court and off - after accepting the job last week. He told the Lake Oconee News that the opportunity to coach the Bulldogs is a “blessing.

BASKETBALL: Bulldogs ‘getting after it’ in summer league games

The Morgan County boys’ basketball team has been practicing hard over the last month, despite recently losing head coach Jamond Sims after he resigned. Sims’ former assistant Brian Green usually runs things in the summer for the Bulldogs.

BASKETBALL: Sims leaving his post at Morgan County

Morgan County boys’ basketball head coach Jamond Sims is leaving the program after eight years. He has reportedly taken the job at Luella High School in Henry County.  Sims, a native of Henry County, is returning to be the head coach of the Lions. His previous stint at LHS was from 2007 to 2013.
