Morgan seniors cap career with a ring

MACON – The Morgan County boys basketball team dramatically capped its season on March 14, claiming the GHSA Class 2A state championship.The Dogs secured the title with a thrilling 53-52 overtime victory over Butler, finishing the season with a 26-6 overall record.

Morgan County survives thriller, beats Butler to win Class 2A state title

MACON – Morgan County saved its best moment for the biggest stage.In a back-and-forth battle that wasn’t decided until the final seconds of overtime, the Dogs defeated defending state champion Butler 53-52 on March 14 at the Macon Coliseum to capture the GHSA Class 2A title.

Jefferies helps lead Dogs to state title game

Kobi Jefferies is enjoying a successful senior season for the Morgan County boys basketball team.The veteran wing has played a pivotal role for the Dogs in 2025-26, helping them capture a second consecutive Region 2-2A championship and reach the state title game for the first time since 2019.

Dogs to face defending state champ Butler for title

The Morgan County boys basketball team is one win away from a state championship, but the Dogs will have to go through the defending titleholder to get it.No. 5 seed Morgan County (25-6) is set to face No. 2 Butler (25-4) in the GHSA Class 2A state championship game Saturday at 1 p.m. in Macon.

Dogs sweep Wolfpack in non-region series

Last week, Morgan County competed against Class 5A’s Greenbrier in a two-game series.The Dogs, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, swept the home-and-home series with 6-4 and 11-2 victories.

Dogs rally in fourth to beat Therrell, advance to state title

DOUGLASVILLE — No. 5 seed Morgan County is heading back to the state championship after a 69–62 win over No. 16 seed Therrell in the GHSA Class 2A semifinal Friday at Legacy Arena in Douglas County.

Morgan County boys trample Colts in first round of playoffs

Morgan County High School’s boys basketball team took care of business in the first round of the GHSA Class 2A state playoffs.The Dogs hosted Coahulla Creek on Feb. 25, cruising to a 76-39 victory to advance to the Sweet 16.

Dogs destroy Tattnall County to advance to Elite Eight

The Morgan County boys basketball team rolled into the Elite Eight on Feb. 28 with a victory over Tattnall County.The No. 5-seed Dogs defeated the No. 12-seed Warriors 76-36 to advance. With the win, they improved to 23-6 overall and extended their winning streak to 16 games.
