Georgia Bass Trail holds Lake Oconee tournament

The first of two fishing tournaments held by the Georgia Bass Trail was held on Nov. 19 at Sugar Creek Marina on Lake Oconee. Thirty-nine teams competed in the North Division. The tournament paid out five places and here are the results: First place: John Duvall and Jason Cheek with 13.

WILD Jaeger Veteran Adventures (WJVA) hosted a charity bass tournament on Sept. 24, in conjunction with Georgia Bass Trails at Sugar Creek Marina on Lake Oconee. The weather for the event was nothing short of spectacular, though it did warm up quite a bit into the afternoon.

Ana Thomas has found her calling at just 10 years old. She learned to wakeboard a few years ago on Lake Oconee and is now competing in the sport. “It feels great that all of my hard work is actually being shown,” Ana recently told the Lake Oconee News.

A motorist traveling through Morgan County on I-20 had a close encounter with a UFO (Unidentified Flying Ornithological) Aug. 21. According to reports, a Morgan County deputy was dispatched to an area near milepost 126 and the Lake Oconee Bridge on I-20 in reference to a property damage complaint.
