Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) is developing an Alternative/ Non-Traditional Education Program (AEP) to handle students who are disruptive in class, miss too many days of school or are not accumulating enough credits for graduation.

Rising Lake Oconee Academy freshman Lili Nelson recently qualified to play in the Georgia-South Carolina Girls’ Challenge Match as a member of Team Georgia on the last weekend of July.

The Lake Oconee Academy football team has been preparing for its third season by participating in summer workouts on-and-off the field. For the past month, the Titans have put most of their focus into strength conditioning in the weight room and agility skill training on the field.

The Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) baseball team had one of its most successful seasons in 2023. The Titans won a program-record 18 games and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs for the first time.

The Lake Oconee Academy boys golf program was recently able to follow up its impressive performance in the area tournament with dominant showings in this year’s GHSA Class A Division II state championship.

Kallyn Black is a rising sophomore at Lake Oconee Academy and is a member of the Lady Titans golf team. Even though she’s been playing at the high school level for only a year, Black has already made a great impact on the program.

Monday night’s meeting of the Lake Oconee Board of Governors was Dr. Otho Tucker’s last as Chief Executive Officer of Greene County’s only charter school.

After having two successful seasons, members of the Lake Oconee Academy boys and girls tennis teams were honored for their outstanding play over the course of the regular season and the state playoffs.

The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ golf team traveled to Thomson to play at the Belle Meade Golf Club for the GHSA Class A Division II state championship earlier this week. The Lady Titans came into the two-day event as the reigning two-time state champions and defended their title as such.

Lake Oconee Academy ended its spring with a scrimmage against Community Christian last week. Despite the score not being kept, it’s safe to say the Titans came out on top as their offense scored with ease, while the defensive unit didn’t allow the Knights past midfield all night.
