The 2022 softball season is right around the corner, and the Lake Oconee Academy Titans feel prepared. The Titans have their first game this Thursday, Aug. 6, against Elbert County, and head coach Keetah Singleton believes the summer has gotten them ready for the year. “I think it’s gone well.

The Lake Oconee Academy cross country programs have been out in full force since the end of last school year. Both the boys and girls’ teams have been training multiple days a week over the past couple months getting ready for the upcoming fall season.

Innovation That Excites: LOA hosts youth science camp

Camp Invention, an organization associated with the National Inventors Hall of Fame, recently held its annual youth science camp in June at Lake Oconee Academy. The organization hosts camps all around the country and is open to all kids from kindergarten through sixth grade.

Dear editor: Recently, there were letters published in the Lake Oconee News referencing the LOA-BOE lawsuit. I disagree with the assertions in the letters. LOA has tried to work on a solution to the issues in the lawsuit but has not been able to come to an agreement with the District.

The Lake Oconee Academy baseball program held a youth camp earlier last week to try and bring some enthusiasm back to the sport. The camp saw about 25 to 30 kids between third and eighth grade in attendance working on multiple drills at the plate and on the field.
