PJ’s Coffee holds grand reopening with new owners

The Greene County Chamber of Commerce recognized Lake Oconee’s PJ’s Coffee with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 16. The coffee shop is now under new ownership and is working to bring some changes to the business.

BBQ Festival gets cooking

Despite the threat of rain, many hungry people took to the fields of The Farm last Saturday for the 2nd annual BBQ Festival, a significant event that directly benefits the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro.

Greensboro mayor nominates new city manager

Greensboro Mayor Corey Williams nominated Autron Hayes Monday night as the new city manager. Hayes is currently the city manager of Sylvester, a city in southwest Georgia.

BREAKING: Savannah Court at Lake Oconee will remain open

In a ruling handed down Friday afternoon, Administrative Law Judge Charles R. Beaudrot determined that the Georgia Department of Community Affairs did not present enough evidence to warrant closing down Savannah Court at Lake Oconee senior care center in Greensboro.

GDOT meeting to update Highway 44 plans

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has called a public meeting May 7 to present slight changes made in the project to widen Highway 44 to four lanes through Greene and Putnam counties.The Public Information Meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Putnam County Administration Building.

Visitors to downtown Greensboro will be greeted by the smell of freshly fried funnel cakes this Saturday morning, as Southland Jubilee officially takes over the streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
