Several Lake Country athletes got to play football once more in their high school uniforms at the 2022 Athens-area Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) All-Star game.

Several football players from Greene County and Morgan County have recently been named All-Region selections in their respective classifications because of their on-field performances this past season.

After losing two tough consecutive region games, the Greene County Tigers made a statement when the team traveled to Washington-Wilkes for its final regular season game last Friday night.

It was a battle all the way to the final seconds during last Friday’s football game between Greene County (5-4, 2-2) and Aquinas High School (6-3, 2-2), but the Fighting Irish were able to outlast a late push by the Tigers and come away with a victory.

After winning two in a row, the Greene County football team met its match last week. The Tigers (5-3, 2-1) lost to the Lincoln County Red Devils 31-21 in the team’s third region game of the season, but it wasn’t because of a lack of effort.

After coming off a dominant 42-12 win over the Warren County Screaming Eagles a couple weeks ago, the Greene County football team turned its attention to the Lincoln County Red Devils for its third region game of the season.

The Greene County football program had a huge night of festivities last Friday for the Tigers’ homecoming game against the Warren County Screaming Devils. The amazing atmosphere created before the game played a huge role in the Tigers’ 42-12 win over the Screaming Devils, because from the first kick, Greene County’s players were ready.
