Called meetings scheduled on budget, courthouse

The Greene County Board of Commissioners has announced that it will hold special meetings on Friday, July 26, and Monday, July 29, both at 8 a.m. The meetings are open to the public and will be held at the BOC Conference Room (Suite 201) at 1034 Silver Dr. in Greensboro.

A motion to construct a new building for Greene County’s Planning and Zoning, Tax Commissioner and Tax Assessors office was disrupted Tuesday night by the controversy over the status of the Greene County Courthouse.

Commissioners cut millage rate for Greene County property owners

Commissioners address key ordinance changes

Much to the chagrin of some attendees of last week’s Greene County Board of Commissioners (BOC) meeting, the board passed significant resolutions for amending the zoning code for all Planned New Developments (PUD).

Greene County identifies areas for housing, retail and industry

The Greene County Board of Commissioners Tuesday approved a wide-ranging update to the Comprehensive Plan that sets up specific areas of the county for future housing, industrial and commercial developments as well as community services, recreation, and broadband internet.

Preliminary plat approvals signal continued growth

County presents strategic plan before final adoption

There was a large community turnout to review the initial comprehensive strategic plan for Greene County. Held last week, more than 50 county residents came to hear and see planning boards that outline supportive measures and to understand the plans underway.
