Morgan County doesn’t plan to overlook Monroe in first round

No. 1 seed Morgan County begins the Class AAA postseason with No. 4 seed Monroe this Friday. The Bulldogs are coming off a win over Harlem to capture their first region title in six years.

Dorsey reaches 1,000-yard mark as Bulldogs defeat Cross Creek

It’s unique for a high school running back to surpass the 1,000-yard rushing mark in a season, but Morgan County has had it happen in back-to-back seasons. Last year it was Jacere Cooper, and this past Friday night, Jay Dorsey followed in his footsteps for the Bulldogs.

Morgan County, Harlem to play for region title Friday

Bulldogs overcome early errors against Hephzibah

Morgan County prevailed after a few early mistakes to defeat Hephzibah 35-6 on Friday night. The Bulldogs (7-1, 3-0 Region 4-AAA) were hoping to cruise into halftime with a 14-0 lead, but a few costly mistakes by the defense gave the Rebels (5-3, 1-3) some life with a late score.

Morgan faces first big region test versus Rebels

No. 9 Morgan County (6-1, 2-0 Region 4-AAA) will face Hephzibah (5-2, 1-1) this Friday on the road. • Series History: Morgan County leads, 5-1. • Last Meeting: Morgan County defeated Hephzibah 49-33 in 2022. Hephzibah is much improved this season after going 6-5 in 2022.

‘Dogs pitch a shutout against Salem

Morgan County’s defensive unit pitched its second shutout of the season and forced five turnovers as Class AAA’s No. 9 Bulldogs easily defeated region foe Salem 48-0 on Friday night. Morgan County (6-1, 2-0 Region 4-AAA) held the Seminoles (1-6, 0-2) to just 107 yards of total offense.

Morgan County leaned on senior Jaydon Dorsey in its 56-7 win over Richmond Academy this past Friday. The Bulldogs’ running back rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns, while also averaging nine yards per attempt.

Game Preview: Stats favor Morgan over region foe Salem

Morgan County (4-1, 1-0 Region 4-AAA) hits the road this week for a region matchup against Salem (1-5, 0-1). Series History: Salem leads the all-time series, 2-1. Last Meeting: Morgan County defeated Salem 45-0 in 2022. Salem hasn’t won much lately and hasn’t had a winning season since 2018.
