Lady Dogs’ coach confident in team

Morgan County softball heads into 2024 after a successful run to the Elite Eight in Columbus last year.The Lady Dogs went 23-10-1 overall in 2023 and entered the postseason as the top seed after winning the region title with a 10-1 mark.

Lady Dogs softball players sign to play at next level

Morgan County softball seniors Emmy Moss, Ryan Henderson, and Anna Kate Hill signed letters of intent during a Nov. 14 ceremony to continue their careers on the diamond and play at the college level.

Lady ‘Dogs capture region title over Harlem

Morgan County captured the Region 4-AAA championship last Wednesday with a 7-1 win over Harlem. After losing 2-1 on Sept. 19, the Lady ‘Dogs got a much-needed 3-2 victory over Harlem last Monday night, forcing a winner-takes-all game three on Wednesday, which played into their favor.

‘Dogs softball on hot streak, get set for final stretch

Morgan County softball has been hot as of late, winning six of its last nine heading into this week. The Bulldogs are 12-6-1 overall and 8-1 in region play following Tuesday’s league loss to Harlem.

‘Lady Dogs grind out first two wins of the season

Morgan County picked up its first two wins of the season last week against a pair of non-region opponents. The Lady ‘Dogs opened up the year with losses to Social Circle and Franklin County but bounced back to defeat Monroe Area and Greenbrier to even up their record at .500 entering the week.

Lady ‘Dogs begin first season under new coach

The Morgan County softball team kicked off its season Tuesday with a new head coach in Chad Pigg. Pigg was previously the head coach at Harris County and comes in with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He was hired by Morgan County Director of Athletics Doug Connelly in late June.
