LOA baseball looks to build off last season’s success

Lake Oconee Academy’s baseball team had its best season in program history last year by winning 18 games and advancing to the second round of the postseason for the first time under new head coach Mark Miller.

Greene County girls, boys sweep Washington-Wilkes to advance to state

Both of Greene County’s basketball teams competed against Washington-Wilkes Tuesday, Feb. 13 during the second round of the region tournament. The Tigers and Lady Tigers each topped their opponents and qualified for the Class A Division II state playoffs, which starts next week.

Lady Titans eye another region title

Lake Oconee Academy secured the top seed in the region tournament following wins over Washington-Wilkes and Aquinas last week. LOA head coach Savannah Soles said finishing the drill and securing the top spot was her team’s primary goal as the season ended.

Overtime loss ends season for Bulldogs

Morgan County’s boys basketball team fell to Harlem in overtime Monday in the first round of the region tournament. The Bulldogs of Columbia County topped Morgan County’s Dogs 56-52 in a close battle to the end.
